This painting was commissioned by a scrap metal
dealer. He requested that I include some
factory discards of small yellow pieces
of tape measure, which identify the material as coming from
his yard.

As shown in this picture of ruptured fuel
tanks, scrap metal comes in an endless variety of
shapes, volumes and colors.
